I've been super busy with Parent Conferences. I am sooo backed up on reading blogs, I feel like I have missed out on a ton of great activities. I tried to catch up and think I am only halfway there. However, I have a question for you...
Do you have any celebrations planed for this special day??? The Kinder and 1st grade team at my school was discussing celebrating this day, but aside from 100 day activities that have been tweeked to 11 instead of 100, I am a bit clueless. I was asked if I saw anything on the wonderful blogs I read and I had to say... "I don't know I haven't read any in a week." :( I looked around but have not found anything so far.
So I am starting a linky party. If you have an activity you will do with your kids/ students this year, on 11-11-11, and post it on your blog link it up here! No blog? No problem, leave a comment. I am curious to see if anyone else is celebrating 11-11-11.
The Linky Party will stay open until 11-18-11. So if you don't get to post your activity until after 11-11-11, don't fret. I would still love to see what you did. I might tweak it for next years, 12-12-12. :)

We are out of school on the 11th and I am bummed! I can't wait to see what ideas others have!

Chilling and relaxing!! No school for me on 11-11 either!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are out of school on the 11th, but I'm going to a colleagues' party that starts at 11:11AM and ends at 11:11PM on 11-11-11. (I certainly won't be there all day, though.)
ReplyDeleteNovember 11 is Veteran's Day so we are out of school also. Hmm ... maybe we could think of ideas for the day before.

we are out of school for that day too! but if anyone has anything, I could maybe do a 11-10-11 pregame day...lol!
ReplyDeleteOne of kiddos today was so excited to tell me that it's going to be 11/11/11 soon! :) I hadn't really thought about celebrating it, but maybe we will! We definitely do have school on Friday, so we'll have to do something fun! They love to make hats, so maybe a sentence strip with the date in funky lettering? Everything we do on a sentence strip they make into a hat anyway! In Math this week we are practicing different ways to get to 10, so maybe we'll make some sort of project for ways to get to 11! I've seen some cute stuff on Pinterest, maybe a flower with 11 in the middle and the petals are addition sentences that add up to 11? Sounds like a fun day!
ReplyDeleteWe are off from school too! Veteran's Day....it would be fun to do something though!

Hi!! I love your blog! I love reading your posts and seeing your ideas :) I was blog.stalking today and came across some fun activities for 11-11-11, but they may be too high for your kiddos, either way, I figured you could adapt them. So here are the sites I saw :)

eek! I'm in school Friday for a half day and hadn't even thought about it! it also happens to be our 50th day of school! I think in math I might give them brainstorm as many different ways to make 11 (tallies, color combinations, dice). I'm open to any ideas for 50 or 11 for kindergarten!
